I studied electro-technic at the HTS. Graduated 1971. Then military
service. Joined Philips Telecommunication Industry (PTI) in August 1974.
Started my "career" in the electro-mechanical switching systems
(public telephony exchanges) No computers or software but just noisy relays,
rotating selectors, sparks, oil, grease and believe it or not you could
make telephone calls. That is all history now. Computers took over the
telecom world. So I entered the world of programming. Started to develop
application software for computer controlled exchanges. Nine years of application
programming (signalling, subscriber features, traffic measurements and
many other areas) gives a good idea where faults are made and I decided
to move to system testing. Then I was testing software and documentation
before it is delivered to the customers (PTT's all over the world).
Switched to the supportteam to help with customer problems.
Since July 1st 2006 I quit my job and now enjoy my freetime.
In the mean time PTI became APT and then
and
then the company was called :
